Are All Chevy 6-Lug Patterns the Same?

Chevy Silverado Rim

Sometimes you have to change out your vehicle’s wheels. It’s not that uncommon, and it’s not difficult to do as long as you follow the proper steps. You can either do it yourself or bring your car into the Major World Chevrolet service center so we can take care of it for you! No matter what, it’s a good idea to know what your vehicle’s lug bolt pattern is. You may have come across this term before but do not know exactly what it means. In short, your Chevy has a pattern of lug nuts arranged in a circle at the center of each of its wheels. There’s a specific number of lug nuts–usually four to eight–and each one is a certain diameter in millimeters or inches from the others. Chevy SUVs and trucks in the East Hills area have a 6 lug-bolt pattern.

So, are all Chevy 6-lug patterns the same? The answer is yes, they are! Most automakers use the same pattern for their wheels, and Chevy uses the same 6-lug patterns for just about all of their vehicles. Check out the guide from Major World Chevrolet below for more information on the Chevy 6-lug bolt pattern.

What is the Bolt Pattern for a Chevy 6-Lug?

So, what is the bolt pattern for a Chevy 6-lug? As we discussed above, a lug pattern has a certain number of lug nuts (Chevy uses 6), and each lug nut is a certain distance from the others. These are the two numbers that identify a lug bolt pattern–for example, a wheel with 5 lug nuts and a circular diameter of 100 millimeters would be called a “5-100mm” pattern. In general, Chevy wheels have a pattern of 6-5.5in, meaning there are 6 lug nuts that are spaced 5.5 inches away from each other.

Now that we’ve answered the question “what is a Chevy 6-lug bolt pattern,” you might be interested in knowing how to measure it for yourself! Just take a tape measure or ruler, start at the center of one bolt, and measure it to the center of the bolt opposite it. Fortunately, it’s easier to measure even-numbered lug patterns since they’re spaced out evenly from each other–odd-numbered lug nuts use a different method of spacing.
